Background and Expertise
With more than 30 years’ experience in all phases of the development of therapeutically important drugs, and extensive experience in both industry and academia, Joe is head of Tunnell’s Life Sciences Practice, using his well-respected knowledge to help our clients most effectively integrate business and science. Joe’s areas of expertise include Drug Discovery, Drug Development, Strategic Planning, Executive Coaching, Project Management, Global Strategic Alliances, and Manufacturing Operations. He has also served as the Evan Pugh Professor of Chemistry at Penn State University, where he held a number of academic positions for over 20 years. Joe has been the President of Biopharmaceutical Consultants LLC, the Executive Vice President of Pharmaceutical Development & Operations for Neose Technologies, Inc., and has held numerous vice presidential positions at Bristol-Myers Squibb, including Vice President of Biologics Strategy and Biopharmaceutical Operations.Education
