Knowledge and Experience:
Sid Advant brings to his responsibilities as head of Tunnell’s West Coast office in San Diego more than 13 years experience in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Formerly a Director at Diosynth Biotechnology (previously Covance Biotechnology Services), he has been involved in the development of more than 25 therapeutic proteins, with increasing responsibilities in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Technology Transfer, Project Management and Business Alliances. Previously, at BioReliance, Sid established and directed a cGMP/GLP compliant formulation development business and supervised analytical method development and validation projects for biopharmaceuticals and traditional pharmaceuticals. As a pharmaceutical development scientist at Protein Design Labs, he was responsible for formulation development of therapeutic humanized antibodies as protein pharmaceuticals and developed strategies for rapid pre-formulation studies of multiple products.
Sid is a founding member of the Industry-FDA sponsored CMC Strategy Forum Advisory Committee for Biopharmaceuticals, serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of BioProcess International and is a co-chair of the Biotech Group of International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP). Sid is an active member of AAPS, and has served as the chair of the Biotech Section and the chair of the National Biotech Conference.
